Our vision is to develop spiritually passionate, humbly dependent followers of Christ. More specifically, we are asking God to work through us in the raising up an army of grace-soaked men and women who hunger to know, enjoy, and reflect the surprising life of Christ. As well, they are seeking to intentionally influence and equip others for this same great adventure. We exist to provide the tools, training, and opportunity to make this possible.

“New Hearts, New Lives, New Legacies”

These are the three key focal points of our outreach.

New Hearts – The starting place for all true spiritual growth is the divinely-implanted new heart which God gives to each believer at the moment of conversion. “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you…” Ez. 36:26This new heart (i.e. the Holy Spirit within the believer) inclines us to seek God and sink our roots deeply into Him.

We focus on three things concerning this new heart. For those who have never taken the first step of simply trusting Christ alone for their salvation, we want to provide the opportunity for them to receive their new heart. All of our events have this as one of the primary goals for the event.

For those who have received their new heart through faith in Christ, we want to help them understand their new heart. Much of our discipleship focuses on helping believers understand who they are in Christ and the outlandish spiritual resources God has implanted within every believer.

Finally, we want to help them release their new heart. Release their heart to the innate longing which God has placed within all His children to know Him. “I will give them a heart to know Me, for I am the Lord.” Jer. 24:7 Nothing matters more than an ongoing, ever-deepening, white-hot love affair with the unrivaled Sovereign of the universe and Lover of our souls. Everything of eternal consequence in our lives is rooted in this greatest of all pursuits. We seek to help men and women become the fragrant saints they were made to be;those whose primary pursuit in life is that of David’s – “One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.” Ps. 27:4

New Lives – The new heart is given to help produce a radically new life. There are three things in particular which we emphasize in regards to this new life.

The first is what we like to call next step. We seek to be there to help believers take the next step God has for them in the long and winding road of discipleship. Nobody gets fast-forwarded to maturity; it is a step by step process. Our goal is to help them in taking the next step God has for them.

The second thing we focus on is what we call surprising lives. Our new hearts incline us toward Christ-scented, surprising lives. “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” I Cor. 10:31 The glory of God is always surprising; therefore to glorify God is, in large measure, to put His surprising-ness out on public display. It is not enough to simply avoid the wrong; we must also traffic in the supernaturally right. Ours is the high adventure of seeking to surprise others around us with unexpected displays of Christ-empowered, radical godliness. This simply another way of expressing one of our Lord’s primary callings on our lives, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Mtt. 5:16

The third thing we emphasize is what we call maximizing one’s natural sphere of influence. We believe that our closest relational connections in life are not accidental, but God-orchestrated. From family to friends to co-workers to neighbors to classmates, etc.; all are part of our lives through the hand of our infinitely sovereign and wise God. Therefore, our first great calling in having spiritual influence is towards those most immediate in our natural sphere of influence. This does not mean we are not vitally concerned with seeing the gospel preached to the ends of the earth, only that we begin where God has chosen to plant us. “…Go home to your friends (lit. ‘those who are yours’), and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you.” Mk. 5:19

New Legacies– one’s new life, properly lived, secures a new legacy that is far more lasting and significant than any other legacy available. We focus much on the topic of living an eternally significant life; one whose footprints will never be erased by the tide of time. There are two things we in particular that we emphasize.

First is what is often called spiritual multiplication. We believe that it is normative for all Christ-followers to be intentionally mentoring other Christ-followers with the expectation that they will turn around and do the same with others. This work does not belong primarily to the clergy or paid Christian workers, but to all of God’s people. We are here to be extraordinarily dangerous to the kingdom of darkness and spiritual multiplication is one of the most central facets of this high calling. We are simply seeking to follow the words of Paul to Timothy, “And the things that you have heard of me among many witnesses, the same entrust to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” II Tim. 2:2

The second focal point of New Legacies is what we call spiritual centeredness. What we mean by this is that eternally significant lives not only serve God; they serve God primarily out of the unique gifting He has entrusted to them. Central to this is each person discovering and exercising the unique spiritual gift God has given them. “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” I Pet. 4:10 We believe that every believer has an absolutely unique part to play in the advancing of Christ’s kingdom and we want to help them find that job description.

Our primary strategy for carrying out this vision is to “bring in, build up, and send forth.”

Bring in – We hold events which are designed to draw in men and women, with the goal of introducing them to a vital relationship with Jesus Christ. The goal is to always have a great message presented in an authentic, non-threatening atmosphere which spotlights the relevancy of Christ for everyday life.

Build up – We provide various opportunities to build up believers in their personal walk with God. These range from weekly bible studies, to workshops, to personal mentoring.

Send forth – Our goal is to provide the tools, training, and opportunity so that those participating can be sent forth into their own natural sphere of influence to spiritually impact those around them.
